Create a Visual Inspiration Board
A visual inspiration board will allow you to see how all of your ideas fit together before your wedding day. You can use it as a visual reference guide to use throughout your planning to make planning easier. Make it easier for you to say yes and no to things and even keep you on budget.
There are plenty of beautiful photos to pick from to gather inspiration. But for your vision board to be effective, pick photos that mean something to you; that represent actual things you’d like to have for your wedding day.
Get the Wedding Your Dreaming Of
Picturing your wedding, do you imagine saying “I do” with the mountains behind you, a french chateau, or maybe it’s like the wedding in the movie Twilight? A different vibe is given off when you think of each one of those.
You have ideas for your wedding day – putting them altogether in a board allows you to see your big day. Looking at your board you can see if it mirrors the emotions and experiences you want to have for your wedding day.
We’re not all designers and doing this is one way to ensure that everything goes together to give the vibe you’re looking for.
Your Reference Guide Throughout Wedding Planning
Use your visual inspiration board as a map.
Looking at the photos you’ve picked, everything from the florals to the attire, the venue and setting, to the food – these are the pieces you need to find to make sure your wedding day turns out like your vision! Find the pieces that match your vision board and make it easy to say yes and no when making your decisions. Say goodbye to indecision.
When you’re looking for your team you’ll be able to compare your board to their portfolio and know if they’re a fit for your style. Even looking at the type of photos you choose, from what’s being photographed to the editing style, can help you choose your photographer.
Stay in Your Wedding Budget
You have amazing wedding dreams and you’re not sure if your wedding budget will cover them. Knowing your vibe and having a visional inspiration board opens up the door to other possibilities that can get you the same result you’re looking for.
If you had your heart set on a certain flower, maybe it’s out of season and it would cost too much or you’d have to ship it from the other side of the world and you’re not sure how you feel about that given your love for the planet. Whatever the reason is, you can swap it out for another one that gives you the same feel and look as the one you loved, while keeping you on budget.
There are plenty of beautiful photos to pick from to gather inspiration. But for your vision board to be effective, pick photos that mean something to you; that represent actual things you’d like to have for your Wedding Day.
You can easily screenshot the images and go to canva.com to create a collage of all the photos, then print them at home or send it off to Office Depot or one of those places. You can print it on cardstock for durability, when I do visual boards for the things I want to work on or towards each, I print mine on foam board and hang them on the wall.
Not only is it fun, but it let’s you get a glimpse of what’s to come!
