A must-have list can keep your spending plan on the right track but most importantly it’s an empowering sounding board, when kept at top-of-mind it can ensure you get what you value most, while giving yourself grace to let go of anything less important to you.
You have wedding ideas .. you’re excited, so you start to dive in, saying yes to this and putting money towards that. There will be all the pretty things catching your eye and well-intended advice coming from people who may or may not have done this before. Decisions are made prematurely and regrettably if you skip asking yourself insightful questions first.
Keep your planning aligned with what matters to you and yours, ask yourselves, “What is most important to us, our must-haves for our wedding: from details, to people, to experiences? What do we absolutely need/want to have?”
“What are our 3 – 5 must-haves for our wedding?”
Let the things that are really important guide your decisions on where to invest most so that your wedding stays true to you and yours. If something is less important to you then there’s no need to spend a significant amount of cash on it or include it at all. Whether you feel your budget is tight or you’re planning a paired-down wedding a must-have list will pull focus to the things you value most so you can let go of anything less.
