Forget the Wedding Checklist — Start Here Instead

You start planning your wedding where most people start. Online. Searching for answers.

And there’s no shortage. Experts, blogs, previously married couples, never-ending checklists, standard timelines — all telling you what to do, step by step, in order.

None of it asks what actually aligns with you.

So before the to-do lists and vendor searches — take a step back.

What Is a Wedding, Really?

At its heart, it’s a vow of commitment between people. A ceremony — with an officiant and witnessed vows — followed by a celebration. That’s it.

There are no rules after that. It’s your wedding and you can celebrate however you want.

You could go home, just the two of you, and dance in your living room. Or you could gather with the people you love and celebrate with food, music, and whatever feels right.

The Question Worth Starting With

Wedding planning should be exciting. It should be fun. And it can be much simpler than it presents.

Forget what you think you know about weddings for a moment. Sit quietly. Take a few breaths.

What do you really want for your wedding?

How do you like to celebrate?

This is the most overlooked question in wedding planning — and the best place to begin. When you start from how you naturally celebrate, everything else follows. Your wedding stops chasing trends and starts representing you and yours.

Listen to the audio to dig deeper into this question and plan a wedding that innately reflects who you are.
